the Conqueror orders 1st Domesday Survey of England 3/19/06 Everyone must re-sign up for the forums. It is still being worked on trying to recovering the old forums most likely it will not happen. The good part for many of you it is a clean slate so who will be the first to a 1000 posts? UPDATE! DivByFire and Malaci was able to make the repairs to the forums. So the old fourms are back up and running. It took many hours to go through over 100 Meg of data and make the repairs needed. Thanks guys for all the hard work. Since they both already have the Presidential Citation Medal they both are receiving the Presidential Citation Ribbon. I would have give them both the medal again but one has not been made yet <hint...hint> Everyone please congratulate them for the award and up most the work they did on the forums. Hagarr

Hi everyone: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Joint Chief Staff Meeting March 5, 2006 We normally do not publish the notes from our meetings, but as this meeting contained many changes and rule modifications, we thought that it would be a good idea to get the contents of the meeting out to all members. Our main focus for this meeting was to address many of the suggestions and comments that have been circulating and to resolve some of our own issues with operations within the clan. To wit, please find below the following resolutions that passed unanimously. 1. Growth – OBC has experienced a very fast growth rate of the past few months. This has had some unintended results. One of which has been an increased fragmentation in the “family feel” within the clan. To address this we have decided to suspend all recruiting efforts for the time being. This will allow the recruits in Boot Camp to be trained and put into platoons without a growing backlog pushing them through too quickly. It will also give each platoon some time to get to know all the new members and for those new members some room to get to know what it means to be apart of OBC. We will continue to add new members by invitation only. These invites will come from the Company Commanders and above after the perspective recruit has been playing on our servers for some time and, where possible; we have spoken to them on VOIP and heard how they conduct themselves during regular game play. If you feel you have a possible recruit in mind, forward that information on to your Company Commander or JCS for evaluation. Once this has taken place, the potential recruit will be given a link to our Clan Application. 2. Ventrilo – Due to the large number of members on voice, all OBC members will now be required to use “Push to Talk”. The senior staff has already switched and we will allow a grace period of 2 weeks for the rest of the clan to make the switch. This change should help with some of the extraneous noise that we have been experiencing in channel and increase the ability to hear the game specific conversation that was getting lost in some of the channels. Please remember that we are all on voice to have fun. This, at times, does include non-game chat of a general nature. We are not asking that to stop, just be aware of where and when it’s appropriate. Common sense should be the guide here. If you are asked by an Admin or Officer to change your Vent settings ( i.e. too loud) or “cut the chatter” , please remember that we expect you to respect that request. 3. Juniors on Ventrio – The Command Staff has made the decision that all juniors 17 and below are to be in the game specific Vent Junior Channel. Early on in the Clans formation we were asked if the children of an active member could log on to our server as well. This grew into a Junior Platoon and adding them to voice. Needless to say this has not always worked resulting in many rule changes and conflicts. With the size of the Clan and the original idea for why we were created (to provide a place for Old Bastards to play and have fun) in mind, we once again find ourselves with the current 16 and above rule not being followed. To make sure that we continue to allow our members to enjoy a fun round with their kids, we are relaxing the requirements that a member be in the Vent channel that they are logged into. Parents are encouraged to join their kids in the Junior Vent channels when playing. If other members wish to join them there, that’s fine too. Juniors that are invited to join a platoon are exempt from this change. At the time the Junior reaches 18 years of age, they will be allowed to fill out an application for full membership. 4. Spearhead Server Move – The Dallas Spearhead box will be relocated to Chicago and the Freeze Tag game moved from Atlanta to Chicago. This should spread out the demands on each server. The Stock and Bombs will move to Chicago and the “Dallas 2” will move to Atlanta. Looking at demographic map of the Spearhead Patrons, this move will cover more of the Patrons and should result in lower pings for some without a substantial increase for those close to Dallas. 5. Generals – A request was made for the all the Generals to hold a bi-weekly meeting to discuss common issues. We encourage you to set this up and inform the JCS of the date and time. As many of the JCS as possible will attend. 6. Euro Spearhead – Reports from Euro Spearhead is they are well and doing fine. We do expect that they will continue to recruit on some level as a small rebuilding effort from the past events. Due to their structure, we expect the PL’s and Company Commander to be the one’s involved in recruit approval. No server changes will occur with Euro Spearhead for the next 4 to 6 months as OBC shows its commitment to those that have been committed to OBC. There were other topics discussed that did not resolve, or were tabled until next week. A few of the topics were put off until the changes above a fully implemented and results seen. Remember our goal is to maintain a fun and cheat free gaming experience for all, which is a task that we are all committed too and one that will always require some modifications along the way.
